Dialog invests in state-of-art wireless technology
Access Engineering PLC, a firm known in the telecommunication infrastructure development sector is currently engaged in the deployment of an optical fiber backbone network and optical fiber sprouts connectivity project for Dialog Broadband Networks (Pvt) Ltd.
With this project, Dialog Broadband Networks (Pvt) Ltd, a subsidiary of Dialog Axiata PLC has made a forward investment with the intention to enhance the internet penetration level and to introduce state-of-art wireless technology for broadband internet delivery.
This project is being implemented in several phases and Phase I to III are already in operation. The project involves the supply of services related to the deployment of Dialog Optical Fiber Network in urban areas – and the project is being carried out across the island, installing an approximate total of 200 km of fiber cables.
“The coordination between the utility agencies, road authorities, and general public was extremely challenging and executing work in urban areas became a tough task when the cables are required to be installed underground along the busy roads. Yet the Horizontal Directional Drilling technology employed by the Company assured the work progressed with minimum damage to the road surfaces and least disturbances to the traffic and pedestrians,” Access Engineering said.
